I am writing in an adequate manner to express my and my wife’s eternal gratitude to the President of ServiceMaster by Disaster Recon, Greg. Early in the evening of Friday, May 31, 2013, there was a fire in our home, which ultimately ended our being displaced for almost four months. As we stood outside our home, in the rain, watching the flames erupting from the roof, we were devastated to say the least. In a state of trauma, we telephoned ServiceMaster by Disaster Recon and spoke with Greg.
The initial conversation with him caused us to breathe normally for the first time in numerous hours. Immediately, he sent his team to board up our home. He was totally professional as well as knowledgeable and compassionate and he took the time to explain the process that would follow. If you have not ever experienced a fire loss to your home, you can never know the anguish of not knowing what to do next. His conversation gave us a comfort level that we would get through this ordeal.
Greg and his team are consummate professionals. Every aspect of his service was handled flawlessly. He provided detailed information to us as he did his walk- through with our insurance agent. Also, he patiently sat with us as we discussed further details. During our temporary stay in the hotel, he answered our numerous telephone calls with alacrity and promptly met with us to keep us updated concerning progress. As you may imagine, we had a plethora of questions and concerns almost daily. His responses were always professional, helpful, and done with the utmost courtesy. He provided an estimate of the date by which all repairs to our home would be completed and periodic milestone reports…in writing.
During my over forty years of service with NASA I had the opportunity to observe, and hire employees and promote supervisors, managers, and executives. Therefore, I am able to recognize individuals who perform exemplary service, especially to their customer base. I have never seen one of greater competence, dedication, and perspicacity than Greg and his team. If this message seems overly effusive, that is not my intention. But I hope you understand that needing professional support during the most traumatic of times cannot be overstated.
I maintain that the mark of a first- class organization is the caliber of people that organization hires. As I make presentations to executive seminars, I state that if you want a good manager, or a good anything, you must begin with a good person. Not only is Greg a good person, he surrounds himself with good people.
I close by thanking him for his exceptional support and service during a most trying time in our lives. Everyone who has visited our home since we returned, marvels at the restoration done by ServiceMaster by Disaster Recon. I recommend them to anyone without reservation.
